Purpose of this Guide

The purpose of this guide is to provide access to resources currently hosting government data and information, such as website rescue and archiving. Based on current events and actions of the 2025 transition between presidential administrations, government data and information typically hosted on federal websites, information, and datasets may be temporarily missing or incomplete.

Since the situation is ever changing, links provided on this guide are offered in a best faith effort as a resource. They may also be incomplete. Inclusion of these links does not indicate endorsement of the organization hosting the data and/or information.

Data Rescue Project
The Data Rescue Project is a coordinated effort among a group of data organizations, including IASSIST, RDAP, and members of the Data Curation Network. Our goal is to serve as a clearinghouse for data rescue-related efforts and data access points for public US governmental data that are currently at risk.

End of Term Web Archive
The End of Term Web Archive captures and saves U.S. Government websites at the end of presidential administrations. The EOT has thus far preserved websites from administration changes in 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2020.
