Literature Reviews: A How-To Guide

How to conduct literature reviews in medicine/health

Use an Article Matrix

Using a spreadsheet or table to organize the key elements (subjects, methodologies, results) of articles you find can be helpful.

When you create a matrix, the first few columns should include citation information, followed by research questions/purpose. The remaining columns should identify important aspects of each study such as methodology and findings.

Use the sample matrix below, and edit it to fit your needs.
