Critical appraisal is the process of systematically evaluating scientific research/evidence in order to judge validity, relevance, and value within a particular context.
Critical appraisal asks:
1. Are the results valid?
2. What are the results?
3. Will the results help me locally?

Once you know the study design, you can use some corresponding resources and checklists that will help guide you through the appraisal process.
