What is Scite?

Scite is like the "GPT chatbox for science writing."

Scite is a citation database that indexes millions of full-text articles from a variety of publishers (traditional and open access). Scite has over 1.9 billion unique citations and includes comprehensive metadata of authors, affiliations, journals, publishers, etc. Scite's articles focus on the sciences (biomedical, natural), engineering, social sciences, arts, and humanities. 

AI filters citations into various "smart citation" categories, exploring how the citations are supporting, mentioning, and contrasting -- basically, how they are used by other authors to help researchers have a comprehensive, contextual understanding of a paper.
