Scite is a platform for discovering and evaluating scientific articles via Smart Citations. Smart Citations allow users to see how a publication has been cited by providing the context of the citation and a classification describing whether it provides supporting or contrasting evidence for the cited claim. The Assistant tool uses AI technology to deliver summaries of topics using peer-reviewed sources.
To create an account:
1) Use the Scite link to access the site
2) Click on the dark blue button that says “Access through your institution with OpenAthens”
3) Choose Belmont for your school
4) Login using your myBelmont username and password
5) Scite will create a personal account for you automatically and allow you to access all the features of the tool, including Assistant

Scite has over 1.9 billion unique citations and includes comprehensive metadata of authors, affiliations, journals, publishers, etc. Scite's articles focus on the sciences (biomedical, natural), engineering, social sciences, arts, and humanities.
AI filters citations into various "smart citation" categories, exploring how the citations are supporting, mentioning, and contrasting -- basically, how they are used by other authors to help researchers have a comprehensive, contextual understanding of a paper.
